BIO

Matthew King is a fine artist primarily concerned with exploring the human condition depicted in paintings and drawings. The images produced are often enigmatic with a focus on the figurative form either physically or metaphorically. His visual language is influenced by the tradition of oil painting notably the likes of Caravaggio, Goya, Rothko, Bacon and Currie infused with personal experiences. He won the Piran Strange Young Artist prize in 2010 and continues to work in Worthing since studying fine art at Northbrook College.
